Chef Introduction

Chef Kai

Chef Kai, born and raised in Taichung, Taiwan, opened his first restaurant, Taïrroir, in 2016. He earned one MICHELIN star in 2016, two in 2018, and an impressive three MICHELIN stars in 2023. Kai began his culinary journey with Chinese cuisine and later transitioned to French cuisine, infusing it with authentic Taiwanese spirit and passion. He has honed his skills at other MICHELIN starred restaurants in the United States, China, and Singapore, including Jaan and Chef Julien Royer’s Guy Savoy. Kai aims to bring his extensive cooking experience from around the world to Taïrroir, believing in connecting cultures through creative rebellion and expressing unique philosophies with each dish. He crafts impressive epicurean experiences by skillfully using local, fresh ingredients.
