About GOODLINS

Mission Statement

At the heart of our vision lies a profound belief: dining transcends mere sustenance, serving as the most straightforward and profound means of emotional connection. It represents a moment of relaxation, intimacy, and genuine human connection amid the hustle of our daily lives. We aim to reinterpret the notion of fine dining, seamlessly weaving it into our everyday experiences by infusing elements of contemporary culture, art, nature, and innovative space design into the dining experience. Through our cuisine, we craft a sensory journey that engages sight, taste, smell, and soul, elevating dining to an unparalleled form of artistry. In sharing these moments with our guests, we impart not just flavors but also the warmth and joy that life itself brings.

Founded by Hsien-Tsung Lin, GOODLINS has embarked on a mission to redefine fine dining and elevate Taiwan’s culinary landscape. In 2020, Lin, the visionary founder and chairman, made a pivotal decision to return to his hometown and expand his fine dining business. Drawing on his previous success in the U.S. retail market with fast furniture, Lin recognized a shift in Taiwan’s consumption habits. He observed, “In the past, Taiwanese people were solely focused on wealth accumulation and neglected the enjoyment of life. While spending lavishly on art performances was seen as a cultural enhancement, indulging in an expensive dinner was often frowned upon.” However, contemporary Taiwanese attitudes towards food have evolved; it is now regarded as an integral part of life, offering more than just sustenance. Especially in the wake of the pandemic, there has been a growing pursuit of a higher quality of life. Fine dining has emerged as a source of warmth, happiness, satisfaction, and solace — a lifestyle choice that nourishes both body and soul.

Reflecting on the past four years since its inception, GOODLINS has made significant strides under Lin’s exceptional business acumen and strategic foresight. In 2020, Lin successfully acquired a renowned catering group within the industry, adding the MICHELIN starred restaurant “Taïrroir,” led by Chef Kai, to the company’s portfolio — a move that solidified its foundation. The following year, the Group made a substantial investment to establish a landmark restaurant on the 85th floor of Taipei 101, introducing “85TD” helmed by MICHELIN starred Cantonese Chef Wen Xie. In 2023, GOODLINS, in collaboration with former RAW’s two MICHELIN starred Chef Alain, launched the new brand “Restaurant A,” further expanding its business footprint and solidifying its leadership position in the industry. This year, GOODLINS unveiled “Chuan Ya,” a Sichuan cuisine restaurant, in partnership with the one MICHELIN starred Sichuan restaurant “Song Yun Ze” from Chengdu, Sichuan. This collaboration aims to introduce a fresh Sichuan cuisine concept, effectively addressing the demand for high-quality Sichuan cuisine in Taiwan.

Guided by the development vision of “deep cultivation in Taiwan, establishing a presence in the greater Chinese sphere, and expanding globally,” and anchored by the business philosophy of being “people-oriented,” GOODLINS has drawn numerous exceptional talents passionate about the culinary industry’s advancement. In just four years, the Group’s diverse portfolio, spanning from refined Western cuisine to intricate Chinese fare, has garnered recognition from MICHELIN. Moving forward, GOODLINS remains committed to pursuing breakthroughs and fostering innovation in the culinary realm, dedicated to crafting even more extraordinary dining experiences for its customers.
